Twin Cities business owner, comedian, playwright, and actor Joe Senkyr Minjares died on July 21.
Minjares had been hospitalized for several days with pneumonia and lung-related issues, though an official cause of death has not been determined. He had dealt with pulmonary fibrosis since a 2011 diagnosis and had a lung transplant in 2017.
Minjares was a fixture of the Twin Cities comedy scene starting in the ’80s, opening for legendary comics such as Jerry Seinfeld, Jeff Foxworthy, and Andrew Dice Clay.
