Boy, 8, dies after drowning incident on field trip to nature preserve

Authorities have confirmed that an 8-year-old boy tragically died from complications of freshwater drowning following a field trip to a nature preserve on Thursday.

Karmon Conneh, of Brooklyn Center, died on Friday evening at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, just over 24 hours after the incident at Baker Park Reserve in Maple Plain.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office says the supervised field trip was at Baker Park South Beach on Thursday afternoon when the teacher discovered Conneh “in about 3 feet of water” and called 911…
