A 51-year-old Elk River man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly breaking into the Sherburne County Government Center armed with a shotgun and a machete on the morning of July 19.
Zha Kong Vang, 51, was charged in Sherburne County District Court with six felonies, including first-degree burglary with a dangerous weapon, three counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon in a courthouse, and first-degree damage to property.
According to the criminal complaint, dispatchers received a call at 8:58 a.m. reporting that a man with a firearm had entered the government center in Elk River by shooting out an exterior window.
