A vulnerable adult who reportedly had a history of attacking his mother has now been charged in her death in 2023.
23-year-old Jake Arnold Ladwig faces one count of second-degree murder and one count of third-degree assault in connection with the death of his mother, 55-year-old Gara Lee Ladwig.
Fridley police responded to a report of a woman who wasn’t breathing and was cold to the touch on the 6200 block of Ben More Drive NE on May 30, 2023. When they got to the home, they saw the woman, identified as Gara Ladwig, covered in bruises, according to a criminal complaint. Her face appeared deformed and she was lying in a pool of blood.
