Watch your speed: First traffic camera in state is up and running

Mendota Heights Police have a camera focused on finding speeders — it’s a first-of-its-kind pilot program in the state of Minnesota.

“The biggest complaints that we get from our residents are traffic-related… Speeding on our streets,” said Mendota Heights Police Chief Kelly McCarthy. “We’re hopeful that this is the creative way that is the least intrusive way you can enforce traffic laws.”

The speed safety camera is set up in the 500 block of Marie Avenue near Two Rivers High School…
