Minneapolis, MN Public Safety Alert: Fentanyl, Firearms, and Stolen Vehicles Seized

Minneapolis, MN – The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office says its task forces confiscated more than 1,400 fentanyl pills, recovered over 230 stolen vehicles, and seized more than 360 illegal or unlawfully possessed firearms during the first six months of 2025.

According to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, the West Metro Drug Task Force was responsible for confiscating 1,179 fentanyl pills, while the Violent Offender Task Force seized an additional 226 between January 1 and June 30. Authorities said the efforts are part of ongoing initiatives to reduce violent crime and drug trafficking across the county.

The sheriff’s office reported that in addition to drug seizures, deputies and task force members recovered more than 230 stolen vehicles during the same period. More than 360 firearms, either illegal or allegedly unlawfully possessed, were also taken off the streets, officials said…
