Rochester man identified as victim in deadly downtown Minneapolis shooting

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — A Rochester man has been identified as the victim in a fatal shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning in downtown Minneapolis.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner confirmed Saturday that Jermaine Jabaar Typray Barker, 35, died of multiple gunshot wounds after being shot near 8th Street North and Hennepin Avenue.

Minneapolis Police say the shooting happened around 2:10 a.m. on August 27. A gunman reportedly approached a group standing on the sidewalk and opened fire. Barker died at the scene. Another man was injured and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries…
