Tragedy has struck the Maple Grove community as law enforcement officials recover a body from a local pond. The Maple Grove Police Department shared grim news in a social media post, detailing the events that unfolded on the morning of August 29, when a worker reported a deceased person in a pond situated in the gravel mining area near 85th Avenue N. and Valley Forge Lane N.
Upon the 6:35 a.m. call, the Maple Grove Police Department, in conjunction with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Water Patrol, responded to the scene, leading to the recovery of the deceased individual. The identity of the person, as well as the cause and manner of death, remains under the jurisdiction of the Hennepin County Medical Examiner. While the case could potentially be linked to a recent missing person report, the medical examiner’s office is responsible for confirming the identity.
