Driver dies after running red light, hitting another car in downtown Minneapolis

Police say a woman in her 30s was killed after speeding through a red light and colliding with another vehicle in downtown Minneapolis over the weekend.

Officers responded to the two-vehicle crash around 3:15 a.m. Sunday near U.S. Bank Plaza and Capella Tower.

According to authorities, the apparent driver of a Ford was ejected and died at the scene after the vehicle collided with a Kia and rolled over.

A passenger in the Ford, also a woman in her 30s, sustained injuries that aren’t believed to be life-threatening. Two men in the Kia did not appear to be injured…
