Centrex Rehab to lay off over 300 employees as it closes Bloomington facility

More than 300 employees are facing layoffs as Centrex Rehab, a senior rehabilitation provider, shutters in Bloomington.

Centrex is dissolving operations and laying off 311 employees amid the closure of its facility at 8120 Penn Ave. S. in Bloomington’s Southtown Office Park, according to a WARN notice filed Tuesday with the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.

The impacted employees aren’t represented by a union, but Centrex says it’s actively working to identify and secure employment opportunities for the majority of affected staff.

“We recognize the impact this closure has on residents, our employees, their families, and the community, and we are committed to doing everything we can to ensure they have the resources and support needed during this time,” Centrex said in a statement…
