A deadly crash in Minneapolis renewed bipartisan calls from state lawmakers to create stricter penalties for people who flee police and endanger the public in the process.
The call for change, led by Sen. Julia Coleman, R-Waconia, directly followed a high-speed chase and crash that killed two women and injured a 6-year-old boy Thursday morning in north Minneapolis.
