The fatal shooting of a man in a south Minneapolis yard Monday morning marked the late homicide for the city, as police are now investigating and searching for the shooter.
According to MPD, the shooting was detected by ShotSpotter around 1 a.m. in the 1900 block of Elliot Avenue, with Metro Transit officers who were stationed near Chicago Avenue and East Franklin Avenue also hearing the gunfire.
Those officers went to the scene of the shooting and found a man in his 40s suffering from gunshot wounds. He was found alone in the front yard of a home located on the 1900 block of Elliot Avenue.
Despite attempts to save the man, he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said…
