Earlier today, the streets of Brooklyn Park were host to a standoff situation that brought out the big guns, as the BPPD SWAT team and negotiators were dispatched to a residence on the 6300 block of Boone Ave N. According to a Brooklyn Park Police Department public safety alert, at around 10:00 am, officers responded to a disturbance call involving a male individual who had been making threats to his neighbors.

In what became an hours-long negotiation that eventually ceased without a peaceful resolution, the BPPD SWAT was called due to previous interactions with the male, who had a history known to officers, which anticipated the potential for an escalated threat level.
