Doctors call for gun reforms in wake of Annunciation shooting: ‘We cannot let this moment pass’

Health care leaders on Thursday spoke out to urge Gov. Tim Walz to call a special session to change Minnesota’s gun laws.

Physicians advocated for measures like a statewide ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines and safe storage laws in the wake of the Aug. 27 shooting at Annunciation Church and School in Minneapolis that killed two children and injured 21 others.
