Man viciously beat woman with table leg at St. Paul light rail station, charges say

A Minneapolis man has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly attacked a woman with a table leg at a St. Paul light rail platform, leaving her with serious injuries.

Jerrod Rentist Johnson, 20, has been charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of assault in connection with the Tuesday incident.

According to the criminal complaint, police were called to the Metro Transit Green Line station at Fairview and University avenues in St. Paul at around 5:45 p.m.
