Minneapolis Police Detain Driver for Suspected DWI After Wrong-Way Incident on Cedar Avenue

In a late-night patrol turned apprehension, Minneapolis police officers detained a driver on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. According to a Facebook post by the Minneapolis Police Department, the individual was caught driving in the wrong direction, northbound in a southbound lane near Cedar Avenue South and 17th Avenue South.

During the traffic stop, officers observed multiple indicators of impairment, including a collection of empty alcohol containers and drug paraphernalia within the vehicle. The driver’s unsuccessful attempt to navigate the streets of Minneapolis came to an end as law enforcement intervened: “officers saw several empty beer cans and bottles, along with drug paraphernalia inside the car,” as reported by the department’s social channel.
