2 injured when driver rear-ends car into passing train in NE Mpls

Investigators say two people were injured when a driver rear-ended another vehicle at a rail crossing, pushing them both into a passing train overnight Wednesday near Columbia Park in northeast Minneapolis.

Officers responded to the crash just after 2:30 a.m. and arrived to find two heavily damaged vehicles.

The Minneapolis Police Department says preliminary information indicates a woman driving a Cadillac Escalade had been stopped at a railroad crossing on Central Avenue Northeast as a train passed.
