The Minneapolis city auditor wants to increase the size of his office to better handle high-profile and violent cases.
Council members will hear his pitch during a budget meeting on Thursday — the hope is to add three new positions to the Office of the Auditor to create an independent review function for those complex and controversial cases.
Minneapolis auditor Robert Timmerman wrote 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that his office has, “limited personnel resources and is not currently structured to conduct regular reviews of violent or sensitive public safety incidents.”…
