Minneapolis man charged in three Home Depot thefts in Eden Prairie

A Minneapolis man, Michael Benjamin Chew, 33, is accused of stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise during three incidents last year at the Home Depot in Eden Prairie, according to Hennepin County criminal complaints.

A judge issued warrants in all three cases on Oct. 2, setting bail at $5,000 in each.

Prosecutors allege Chew took about $1,474 in merchandise on July 27, 2024, then fled on foot when confronted; officers later detained him. He also faces a misdemeanor count of fleeing a peace officer in that case. Separate complaints say about $1,794 in power tools were taken on Aug. 30, 2024, and about $1,194 on Sept. 7, 2024, all at 13100 Valley View Road…
