Man charged with arson following firebombing attacks on Minneapolis ice cream shop

A 30-year-old Fridley man has been charged after he allegedly threw Molotov cocktails at a Minneapolis ice cream shop in two separate incidents.

Firomsa Ahmed Umar faces two counts of first-degree arson in connection with back-to-back attacks on Fletcher’s Ice Cream & Cafe on Sunday night and Monday afternoon.

Umar is accused of throwing the firebomb at the business, located at 306 E. Hennepin Ave., then fleeing in his Honda Odyssey at around 10:45 p.m. Sunday and again just before 1 p.m. Monday.
