MINNEAPOLIS — Every Friday, a team of volunteers at VEAP, the largest food pantry in the Twin Cities, helps navigate a steady stream of cars that have scheduled grocery pick-up appointments.
This Friday, the traffic and anxiety were a little higher as VEAP began to see more demand from some of the 18,000 federal workers in Minnesota who went without a full paycheck for the first time since the government shutdown began.
