As the government shutdown drags on, food assistance programs in the Twin Cities are feeling the strain.
“We’ve seen a dramatic increase this week, people curious about receiving Meals on Wheels. Many of those are under the age of 60,” said Patrick Rowan, Meals on Wheels Executive Director. “We are, unfortunately, turning people away or putting on wait lists.”
