Minneapolis Police Arrest Juvenile Suspected of Fatal Shooting on Russell Avenue North

A juvenile male has been taken into custody following a deadly overnight shooting in Minneapolis, local authorities report. In the late hours of November 2nd, Minneapolis Police responded to a shooting incident on the 2900 block of Russell Avenue North where they found a young male with fatal gunshot wounds, initially believed to be self-inflicted, this turned into a new narrative when subsequent information surfaced suggesting the victim may have been shot by another, according to a bulletin from the Minneapolis Police Department.

Police Chief Brian O’Hara conveyed the department’s intention to thoroughly investigate the event while expressing his sympathies, “Our thoughts are with the family of this young person tonight,” O’Hara said, “As a father myself, I cannot imagine the pain this family is experiencing”, and with a person of interest in custody, now booked for murder at the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center, the police are piecing together the evening’s tragic events. Investigators are seeking to establish what happened, and have started processing the crime scene for evidence.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will be releasing the name of the deceased, along with determining the official cause and manner of death, upon completion of their inquiry…
