With little explanation, Plymouth’s top two fire officials resign on same day

Without little explanation, the city of Plymouth’s fire chief and assistant fire chief both abruptly resigned from their positions on the same day.

A city spokesperson confirmed to Bring Me The Newsthat Fire Chief Rodger Coppa and Assistant Fire Chief Steve Baker both submitted their resignations on Monday.

Coppa led the Plymouth Fire Department for 10 years, serving as the assistant fire chief in St. Louis Park before that.

Baker was with the department for six years, and writes in a public social media post that the decision to step away from his position was a “difficult one.”…
