TSA Officers in Minneapolis and Las Vegas Receive $10,000 Bonuses for Service During Federal Shutdown

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers at two of the nation’s busiest airports – Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport (MSP) and Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) received $10,000 bonus checks recently from U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, recognizing their service during the recent 43-day federal government shutdown.

The bonuses were delivered during Secretary Noem’s visits to both airports and were funded using Department of Homeland Security (DHS) carryover dollars from fiscal year 2025. According to DHS, the payments were intended to acknowledge the employees’ continued commitment to security operations during a period when many federal workers were not receiving pay.

“President Trump and I are giving a $10,000 bonus to exemplary TSA officers across our nation who went above and beyond their performance,” Secretary Noem said during both visits. “Americans can be proud of TSA workers across the country who continued to serve with excellence throughout the shutdown and who went to great lengths to protect our country, care for their fellow Americans, and keep our nation moving.”
