Areas of southern MN could see up to 10 inches of snow by Sunday

A winter storm is making its way east and slowly out of the state Saturday night, with winter alerts expected to expire at midnight. Some areas could still get a bit more snow before it clears out.

Snow totals of 6 to 10 inches are being reported in southern Minnesota, while the Twin Cities metro area is expected to get 2 to 5 inches when all is said and done. Just north of Interstate 94 should get far less snow.

The snow will ease from west to east late Saturday into early Sunday, with travel conditions expected to be improved as the morning progresses. However, it will get breezy overnight in southern Minnesota, which could add to visibility issues…
