Nonprofit director charged with taking part in fraud scheme

MINNEAPOLIS — A Minneapolis man has been charged with wire fraud and conspiracy after prosecutors say he took part in a multi-million dollar fraud scheme.

Tony Robinson, age 41, was the operations director of the nonprofit Encouraging Leaders, prosecutors say. It was founded by Tezzaree El-Amin Champion, who was sentenced to seven years in prison for stealing millions from COVID-19 relief programs…
