Twin Cities woman who knit to deal with stress as a paramedic expands yarn store

As a paramedic responding to 911 calls in Dakota County, Jennifer Murphree knew some of her coworkers turned to unhealthy habits, such as smoking, to cope with the daily stress of job.

“I thought, ‘This [job] is going to kill me if I don’t deal with this in a healthy way’. That’s how I found knitting,” she recounts. “It sounds so cliche but it truly was life-changing for me because it gave me a way to decompress.”
