A retired Brooklyn Park police officer was killed while helping out a stranded driver on icy roads.
In an interview with Bring Me The News, Renee Hybben says Clayton Connolly had stopped to help a stranded motorist when he was struck and killed by a passing driver on Tuesday morning on Highway 169 and Main Street in Elk River. Hybben is the cousin of Connolly’s wife, and is also their neighbor.
Connolly leaves behind his wife, Tracy, and two children. Tracy worked as an EMT with North Memorial before her retirement. His death has impacted the tight knit town of Nowthen, where he was a fixture.
