The ongoing federal immigration crackdown in the Twin Cities is forcing a number of changes from local, particularly those that are owned, operated and frequented by Latino and Somali residents.
Immigration anxiety was heightened earlier this month as dozens of additional ICE agents descended on the metro. With “Operation Metro Surge” expected to persist through the winter, small businesses are facing additional pressures to go with economic factors such as tariffs and inflation. A number are now asking for support from local consumers, a call that was echoed by metro officials this week.
