A St. Cloud man was arrested for allegedly assaulting a protester in Minneapolis this weekend. The man was held in the Hennepin County Jail on a single charge of 3rd degree assault, which can carry a punishment of “imprisonment for not more than five years or to payment of a fine of not more than $10,000, or both.” A portion of the alleged assault, as well as what happened in the moments before and after the incident were caught on video.
Official Criminal Complaint Released By Hennepin County
The official criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County Court was released this afternoon (12/30/25), and Zak X was charged with 5th Degree Assault. According to the Minnesota Revisor website, 5th Degree Assault is a m isdemeanor offense. The maximum sentence for 5th degree assault is listed as many as 90 days imprisonment and/or a $1,000 fine.
