MN DCYF responds to fraud allegations at Twin Cities day cares

MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Department of Children, Youth and Families says the day cares referenced in a video by Nick Shirley were all “operating as expected” when visited for compliance checks this week.

According to the agency, children were present at all sites except for one, which was not open yet for the day. They visited the day cares after the video by Shriley alleged fraud at the centers. The video has garnered more than 100M views on X.

DCYF is also clarifying the status of Quality Learning Center. According to the agency, they were “made aware” on Dec. 19 that Quality Learning Child Care Center intended to voluntarily close, which is what Commissioner Tikki Brown was referencing during a Dec. 29 press conference…
