Freezing rain could prompt ice storm warning later Monday in Minnesota, Wisconsin

There’s potential from late Monday through midday Tuesday for freezing rain to cause problems on Minnesota and Wisconsin roads.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for now, but it could be upgraded to an ice storm warning if all of the ingredients come together just right.

“Another round of freezing rain will move in this evening through early tomorrow morning, with icy & slick travel expected as it falls and afterwards,” the NWS Twin Cities says. “Temps will be very close to freezing, and how much ice ends up accumulating will be closely tied to how warm we are.”
