Many Twin Cities businesses have closed their doors on Thursday, Jan. 8, as ICE operations continue in the region, a day after an ICE agent shot and killed Renee Nicole Good on the streets of Minneapolis.
Both small and large businesses have seen federal agents enter stores and reportedly apprehend people, as seen in a video of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents detaining two employees at a Richfield Target.
Businesses around the Twin Cities did the same on Wednesday, with reasons for closing varying from a desire to support the community to fearing for the safety of staff and customers.
Among the businesses closing up are Salsa a la Salsa at the Midtown Global Market and La Loma Tamales, both of which have posted to social media that they’re closed until further notice. Meanwhile, the Market later announced that it would close early on Thursday…
