Red Bull Heavy Metal, a street snowboarding competition from Red Bull, was slated to take place in the Twin Cities for the third straight year this coming weekend.
After taking place in Duluth in 2022 and St. Paul in 2024 and 2025, the event was slated to move into Minneapolis at the Hennepin Avenue Bridge on Saturday, Jan. 17. However, the competition has quietly been canceled, according to Red Bull’s website.
“The Red Bull Heavy Metal qualifier in Minneapolis has been canceled,” a Red Bull spokesperson tells Bring Me The News. “Updated dates and locations for other Red Bull Heavy Metal events can be found on the website.”
Neither the spokesperson nor Red Bull’s website specifically mentions Operation Metro Surge, which has brought thousands of federal agents into the Twin Cities and resulted in an ICE agent shooting and killing Renee Good on Jan. 7…
