CBS viewers have ripped into Kristi Noem once again.
On Sunday, the 54-year-old Homeland Security Secretary dropped in for a virtual interview on CBS News’ Face the Nation alongside Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey. At one point during the interview, Noem suggested that the 44-year-old mayor create a safe zone for protests, saying free speech, when peaceful, should not be stifled.
“I’d hope Mayor Frey will set up a peaceful protest zone…so we can work together,” Noem declared to host Margaret Brennan. Later in the show, Brennan put this suggestion forward to Frey when he appeared on the show. Frey clapped back, “First Amendment speech is not limited to one park or one section of the city. You are allowed to protest, so long as you’re doing it peacefully…
