University of Minnesota students, workers, and faculty are walking out today as part of a statewide general strike demanding Immigration and Customs Enforcement leave Minnesota.
The action, known as “ICE Out of Minnesota: Day of Truth and Freedom,” is calling for no work, no school, and no shopping across the state as protests and marches unfold Friday morning. Organizers say the strike is a direct response to expanded ICE activity and public outrage following a fatal shooting involving an ICE agent in Minneapolis.
