Deadly Shootings by ICE Officers in Minnesota Draws Reaction from Nebraska

LINCOLN—(KFOR Jan. 26)–The deadly shooting of 37-year-old Alex Pretti, a nurse that was allegedly shot by a federal immigration agent on Saturday in Minneapolis, prompted more protests in the Twin Cities and across the country, including in Lincoln.

Former KFOR personality Ward Jacobson, who lives in Minneapolis and just miles from both shootings, told KFOR News from his home in Minneapolis on Sunday, federal officials are not allowing local law enforcement to come in and investigate the shooting. Jacobson says city and state officials are doing their best to get a handle on the situation.

“Local police. I mean, they tried to approach these crime scenes. They’re not allowed access. They’ve been refused access,” he said regarding the Minneapolis Police Department. “People are thinking ‘you know who’s in charge here? Who are we answering to?’ They’ve been denied access.”…
