Veterans, former FBI agent warn Minneapolis is a ‘testing ground’ for federal abuse of power

MINNEAPOLIS — A group of mostly retired veterans and former law enforcement officials gathered at Alex Pretti’s memorial site in south Minneapolis on Tuesday and said Minneapolis is a testing ground for federal abuse of power.

“We’re the test state,” Coleen Rowley said. “We’re the experiment, Minnesota.”

Rowley spent 24 years as an FBI agent, including 13 years as legal counsel for the regional office based in Minnesota. As a staff attorney, she taught agents and police officers about constitutional law, evidence procedures and the law governing permissible and impermissible use of deadly force…
