Alex Pretti’s death has been officially ruled as a homicide, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner.
An autopsy noted the 37-year-old died after sustaining “multiple gunshot wounds” when he was shot while protesting in Minneapolis. The incident on Jan. 24 sparked new waves of protests in the twin cities, which have been rattled by an overwhelming presence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
Pretti was pinned to the ground by several Border Patrol agents, disarmed and ultimately shot several times.
