Pipe bursts in Cedar-Riverside apartment building, damaging more than 20 units

A pipe burst in a prominent Cedar-Riverside apartment building over the weekend, causing damage to more than 20 units, though the overall impact to residents depends on who you ask.

When the Minneapolis Fire Department responded to Riverside Plaza just before midnight Friday on a report of flooding on the 12th floor of the complex’s E building, the standpipe and sprinkler system was shut off “to stop the flow of water” and the pipe was quickly repaired, according to a city spokesperson.

“Support services” were offered to the impacted families, the spokesperson says, claiming that none of them reported being displaced…
