2 Minneapolis firefighters hurt, one with “significant burns,” in house fire

Two Minneapolis firefighters are being treated for burns suffered while battling a blaze Thursday morning at a two-story residence.

The Minneapolis Fire Department announced on social media just before 8 a.m. that crews had gathered off East 24th Street and Elliot Avenue, about a block north of Children’s Minnesota hospital in the Phillips community.

Battalion Chief Rick Rivera tells WCCO one of the firefighters suffered “some significant burns.” The other suffered “minor injuries,” and both are being treated at an area hospital.

Two residents were treated at the scene for undisclosed injuries and weren’t hospitalized…
