ICE requests police aid as ‘large crowd’ responds in Hopkins, then St. Louis Park

A “large police presence” was required in Hopkins and St. Louis Park on Monday as Twin Cities residents responded to an ongoing ICE operation.

St. Louis Park Police Department says that around 4:30 p.m., federal law enforcement requested aid from Hopkins PD at the 1100 block of Hiawatha Avenue, where ICE agents had been “conducting an operation” when a “large crowd had formed to protest their presence.”

Video and photos taken from the scene and uploaded to People Over Papers show multiple federal vehicles and numerous agents congregated outside the Hiawatha Court Apartments in Hopkins.

St. Louis Park PD claims that during the resident response, one of the federal vehicles “had its tires slashed,” with local police called in to “clear a path” for feds to leave the scene, separating them from protesting residents…
