The Coon Rapids Fire Department has a warning for pet owners following a major garage fire last month.
According to a social media post by the department, emergency crews were called to the 13200 block of Zion Street as the area experienced below-zero temperatures, arriving to discover a fully-involved attached garage fire.
Despite the fierce flames, firefighters were able to rescue Coco, the family pug.
“Our partners from Allina Health Emergency Medical Services provided immediate supplemental oxygen, and Coco perked right up and is doing well,” the post detailed.
Fire officials are now taking this as an opportunity to remind the public to never delay evacuating their homes or residences for belongings or pets in the midst of a fire…
