A bride and groom had a hilarious venue mix-up.
When Marki and Ben Sammon, both 27, walked inside Midtown Exchange in Minneapolis on Monday, Jan. 26, the couple planned to wed in a civil ceremony in a courthouse at the mixed-use building, but quickly realized they had mistakenly booked their local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
“It was genuinely an honest mistake,” the wedding photographer and videographer, Katie Carlson, tells PEOPLE. “The bride’s mom and I later joked that we both asked people upstairs where we were supposed to go, and were told the DMV downstairs. We were confused, but didn’t question it — we just rolled with it. The bride later joked, ‘I wish it was a funnier story — I honestly just didn’t realize what I was doing.’ “…
