Northeast Minneapolis nominated as one of the nation’s best arts districts

Minnesotans know that Northeast Minneapolis is a great place for the arts, from its many art galleries to concert venues, public art to festivals, there’s a lot going on.

But is that excellence more widely known? It might be, as the neighborhood has been nominated as one of the best arts districts in the U.S. by USA Today’s 10Best.

The voting page for the ranking calls out the Northrup King Building and the sprawling Art-A-Whirl festival as highlights of the district, in its short write-up.

Each of the publication’s many ranked lists is whittled down to a longlist of finalists, which are voted upon by readers, making it a best-of list with a bit of an asterisk…
