BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Drivers will want to steer clear of Interstate 494 in the south metro this weekend.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will close the freeway in both directions between I-35W and Highway 77 in Bloomington and Richfield starting at 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20 and continuing through 5 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 23. Crews will be working to remove the Nicollet Avenue bridge and a nearby pedestrian bridge over the highway.
