Commissioner says HCMC could close if revenue streams not found

Facing a looming budget shortfall and federal funding cuts, Hennepin County Medical Center could close if it cannot find ways to make up lost revenue.

That’s according to Hennepin County Commissioner Angela Conley, who on Wednesday briefed lawmakers at the Senate’s Health and Human Services Committee about the state of the safety-net hospital in downtown Minneapolis, which is operated by Hennepin Healthcare.
