Kwik Trip is looking to revive a long-troubled commercial area in Burnsville with its newest store model.
The Burnsville Planning Commission recommended approval last week of Kwik Trip’s proposal to build its 9,100-square-foot Generation 3 store and car wash on the southeast corner of Highway 13 and Diffley Road.
The 1960s-era Riverview Shopping Center was torn down last year and the blighted Mr. B’s convenience store and car wash, along with the underground fuel tanks, were demolished in 2023, leaving the property vacant after previously-approved redevelopment plans fell through.
The Kwik Trip store now poised to move into the neighborhood will be larger than Burnsville’s 7,200-square-foot Generation 2 store near the intersection of County Road 5 and West 136th Street, according to the proposal, which detail plans for the store to offer hot and cold food, fresh produce, baked goods and other grocery items…
