MINNEAPOLIS — Ikram Mohamed joined the $300 million Feeding our Future fraud scheme as a consultant for executive director Aimee Bock, recruiting others to take part, soliciting kickbacks in return, and even signing up her husband, mother, sister, and brothers to run phony meal sites.
Her husband and sister claimed to run two meal sites out of a little building in north Minneapolis, billing for more than a million phantom meals to feed children in need. All told, Mohamed’s actions led to the theft of $14.7 million in taxpayer money.
